Let’s begin with tennis, where more than 120 members compete on six lighted, flawlessly-maintained Har-Tru courts that are surfaced daily. Most notable at Fiddler’s is the quality of the USPTA-certified instructional team – led by Eugene Dolgovykh. There is a full calendar of year-round events, including round robins, men’s and women’s USTA league play, tennis pro exhibitions, instructional clinics, seminars and other special events. The team offers private lessons, group instruction and clinics designed for every age and skill level.
“If our members are having fun, we don’t care what court they’re on – tennis or pickleball. Our goal, whether in a group clinic or individually, is to improve form, but also to address strategy. We have some pretty serious players here.”
Naples is rightly known as the Pickleball Capital of the World, and Fiddler’s Creek is at the heart of the action. From our courts, teams of every skill level enthusiastically participate in both inter-club and regional tournaments – the pickleball program has just exploded over the past few years. It’s very approachable and social for all skill levels, but like any sport, and it seems pickleball in particular, there’s a hint of competition in the air.
We have 18 pickleball teams, ranging from skill ranking three all the way to five. The courts are always active, for this is one of the largest programs in Southwest Florida.
